A Hands-On Journey into Rural India
Gramin Bharti Sewa Sanstha invites applications for Field-Based Internships in Jharkhand. This immersive programme provides students and young professionals an opportunity to engage directly with rural and tribal communities through education and livelihood development initiatives.
This is a hands-on, field-oriented learning experience designed for individuals passionate about grassroots development, participatory research, and meaningful community engagement.

What You’ll Work On
Every intern is placed in meaningful, field-relevant work across our core programme streams.
Education Outreach
Design and facilitate learning interventions for rural and tribal children. Support non-formal education centres and community learning spaces.
Livelihood & Microenterprise
Support self-help group formation, skill development training, and income generation activities for rural households.
Community Mobilisation
Facilitate awareness campaigns, village meetings, and community participation in development planning processes.
Research & Documentation
Conduct field research, baseline surveys, and impact documentation to inform programme design and policy advocacy.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students or recent graduates from Social Work, Development Studies, Rural Management, Sociology, Anthropology, or related fields
- Young professionals with a genuine interest in grassroots development and community engagement
- Willingness to live in rural settings and engage respectfully with tribal communities
- Ability to communicate effectively; knowledge of Hindi is an advantage
- Open to individuals from any background with demonstrated commitment to social impact

Please Note
This is an unpaid internship. However, accommodation will be arranged with a local host family, and the organisation will cover travel expenses and other essential costs related to the internship — all subject to discussion and confirmation prior to joining.
